Dr. Daniel utilizes the latest technology in the
treatment of periodontal disease. He was the first
periodontist in Tarrant County to use this laser in
the surgical treatment of periodontal disease, a
procedure that decreases post operative discomfort,
swelling, and bleeding. Laser surgery also promotes
bone regeneration, decreases healing time, and keeps
removal of tissue to a minimum (no unsightly long
teeth!) Not all patients are candidates for laser
surgery, in which case a traditional approach would be
used to create the desired surgical results.
How it works: Tartar, associated with inflamed and bleeding gums, is removed from the root surface of the
tooth using an ultrasonic scaler and small instruments. Then, a small amount of light energy
from a laser is directed through a tiny fiber, which
is gently placed between the gum and tooth. This
light energy removes a tiny amount of diseased tissue
and aids in reducing the bacteria associated with the
disease. After the area is thoroughly cleaned, the
body can heal the area naturally.
Laser Peridontal Therapy results in:
- less pain
- less bleeding
- less swelling
- less recovery time
- no incision and no stitches
- it heals quickly and naturally with full retention of your gums
