Dr. Daniel utilizes the latest technology in the treatment of periodontal disease. He was the first periodontist in Tarrant County to use this laser in the surgical treatment of periodontal disease, a procedure that decreases post operative discomfort, swelling, and bleeding.  Laser surgery also promotes bone regeneration, decreases healing time, and keeps removal of tissue to a minimum (no unsightly long teeth!)  Not all patients are candidates for laser surgery, in which case a traditional approach would be used to create the desired surgical results.

How it works: Tartar, associated with inflamed and bleeding gums, is removed from the root surface of the tooth using an ultrasonic scaler and small instruments.  Then, a small amount of light energy from a laser is directed through a tiny fiber, which is gently placed between the gum and tooth.  This light energy removes a tiny amount of diseased tissue and aids in reducing the bacteria associated with the disease.  After the area is thoroughly cleaned, the body can heal the area naturally.
